My outlet (lifestyle post)

Whew! Life has been nothing but hectic for me this past year! I am so disappointed that I have not been able to dedicate time to my blog.

Have you ever been so caught up in something or someone that you lost sight of what really makes you happy? Have you ever been in a place where you never  really knew what even made you happy in the first place? Or maybe what you may have thought made you happy in the past really isn't what brings you joy in your current future?

I think we all experience that at some point in our lives. As humans, we are constantly maturing and evolving. Life is about progression and to stay stagnant or complacent is just plain ludicrous! Waking up each day and experiencing life is a blessing! Sometimes experiencing different things or meeting new people  may make us question what certian things or individuals bring substance and value to our lives.

I have definitely been doing some soul searching lately and recently I have found that I am a total "PP". If you aren't familiar with the term PP,  That's a People Pleaser. Yes, we all are PP's at some point in our lives and it's a constant struggle not to be when you care for others. It's common that we lose sight of ourselves because we get so caught up in making others happy, which is also very important; however it is also important to love and care for ourselves as well.

I have recently come to the conclusion that I have not been doing all of what I enjoy and what makes me happy. Living for others and not myself is a habit that I haven't learned to balance. Trying to make myself into a picture perfect individual for others has caused me to forget who I am and what I'd like to be.

I'm working on that daily, and I challenge anyone that is struggling with this to do so as well. It's very important that we learn to love, value and appreciate ourselves. Never allow yourself to be defined by someone else's opinion of you! Surround yourself with individuals that embrace and encourage your personal advancement and aren't intimidated or jealous by it. Your happiness is what is important!

This post was a little (well, maybe alot..)  off topic of fashion, more like a life style post. But I needed to get that out! I am going to try to be more active on my blog because it's what makes me happy! :)

Anyway, just be as, this is a total "blah" ootd post... Still working on my camera situation!  ðŸ˜©

Thanks for reading!

  1. Hi, Shont'e:

I used to be a PP so I can relate. Thankfully, I learned that it is acceptable to place my needs first in certain situations. Thank you for following me on GFC. I will follow you back.
